The Wicked Deep

My Review: I give this story 4 stars out of 5. It kept me interested but I guessed alot that was going to happen before it happened. I like something that leaves me flabbergasted. But I did enjoy it very much. I say you should read it 

******SPOILERS ALERT************

   In the little town of Sparrow, Oregon there is a secret that happened back in 1822 to 3 beautiful sisters that were all born on the same day a year apart each. These beautiful sisters, Marguerite, Aurora and Hazel Swan fell in love often and typically with the wring men which hearts usually belonged to someone else. So they came up with quite a reputation around town, that they could cause things to happen and such so it came to pass that everyone accused them of being witches and on a day in the end of June the townsfolk took them just beyond the cape and tied rocks to their ankles and dropped them in the water and drowned them. So every year since on that day the sisters begin their song over the town until each sister has inhabited a teenage girls body to drag as many men out to sea and kill them as they can.

     This year Penny Talbot who lives on Lumiere Island was planning again on the party night they have every year to stay inside with her door bolted but her best friend Rose talks her into going. So of course we see where this is going. I either thought Rose or Penny was going to get hijacked with one of the Swan sisters and I was right. At the party Penny meets someone who helps her from a jerk she goes to school with named Bo and its like instant attraction. He ends up working on the island and living in one of the little cottages on the island.

     One night Rose and a boy she meets at the party named Heath (her new boyfriend) comes over and with Penny and Bo they spend the evening playing games and drinking and they decide to go for a ride in one of the skiffs and they come across the first dead body, Gregory Dunn. When they get to shore Penny goes straight up to the metal bell they have there for this purpose and rings it several times to let everyone know the first victim has been found.Over the next couple of weeks everyone will be out for an all out witch hunt.  Later when Penny is walking she sees Olivia and Lola and there she is, Marguerite in Olivia. Like a spectral image behind her face that is what it looks like.

     Well days after that the bell rings again and this time there is two victims and then Lon and Davis had it spread through the high school kids that they caught the witch this time and it was Gigi (Head cheerleader and popular) because she was swimming in the harbor when it happened. When Penny looked at her she seen that it was Aurora Swan.  They had Gigi tied up in a boat shack, it was ghastly in there.  During all this time Penny found out one of Bo's secrets was his brother came up here the year before and was drowned. They told him it was a suicide but he knew better.

     The girls had until the solstice to return to the water and let the girls bodies go back to them selves. By this time I have figured out that Penny was Hazel. She was not going to kill anyone because she had called in love with Bo and she was tired of it. She wants to take over Penny's body and keep it as her own. She tried it once before and it was intensely painful.  Olivia/Marguerite Had by this time tried to take control of Bo's body and kill him but Penny broke the spell by kissing him and making love to him.

     Rose took Gigi/Aurora from the boat shack when no one was looking and hid her on Penny's island.  Bo told Penny he was going to kill her because of his brother and she is trying to stop him. She finds out that Olivia/Marguerite invited everyone to the island for the solstice party and to celebrate the Swan sisters going back to the ocean. During the party Gigi/Aurora gets loose and gets a hold of Lon and Davis and almost takes them into the ocean until she tells Rose thanks for saving me but they were right about me and Rose yells it out to everyone so people start chasing Gigi/Aroroa and she hides in the water. While Penny is watching this Bo and Olivia/Marguerite goes missing and she sees the lighthouse door open and she goes after them. Up top Bo has a knife to Olivia and Olivia spills the beans to Bo about who Penny/Hazel is and that it was actually Hazel all along that killed Bo's brother. Bo is devastated, he loves Penny/Hazel but now he is disgusted. 

     Bo leaves the lighthouse and heads for a skiff to get off the Island head for the next port, he wants away from there but while he was pulling away Penny jumped for the boat and hurt herself and he helped her aboard. She told him she loved him and didn't want to hurt him so she was going to do what Penny's dad tried to do with her a few summers ago and she killed him but he figured out that if she kills herself and then Penny is revived she will be good as new and will only remember what Hazel wants her to remember and all three sisters will never be able to come back again. As long as she does it before midnight. She tells Bo she loves him and then jumps.  He pulls back up Penny and revives her. She says she is looking at a cottage she hasn't seen in years, WOW.  When ever Penny looks at Bo he has a pained exspression on his face so she asks what is wrong and he tells her that He lost someone he Loved!!
